Ultimate Valentine’s Day Guide

Excited to share my Ultimate Guide to Valentine’s Day: sharing all the best gifts for him and for her, and my favorite date night ideas. FYI – Valentine’s Day is next Thursday!

P.S. This is a long post. Don’t forget there’s my favorite date night ideas at the very bottom of the post. Just keep scrolling, folks!

Shop my Valentine’s Gift Guide:

Valentines-Day-Gift-Guide-2019-For-Him

#1 – 5: If you just started dating…

1. Sugarfina Flask & Bourbon Candy Set, $42

This set comes with a chic, simple flask and two boxes of luxe candy: bourbon gummy bears and maple bourbon caramels (I’ve tried both and they are excellent.)

2. Yeti Insulator Tumbler + Lid, $30

I don’t own any Yeti products personally, but continue to hear raving reviews. My favorite thing about it is that it’s machine-washable – HUGE plus right there. It keeps your liquids warm or cold for as long as possible, and is supposed to be highly successful at doing so!

3. Tabasco Spicy Dark Chocolate Wedges Tin, $5.46

So I displayed the pink option above for obvious reasons, BUT this bow comes in 6 different patterns/colors (including leopard) that are all really cute! I seriously want all of them.

4. Herschel Supply Co. Dopp Kit, $30

If he doesn’t have a functional dopp kit, this is the perfect gift for him! This one has an internal mesh organizer and exterior zip pocket to provide convenient extra storage in a rugged, leather-detailed travel kit lined in signature, coated fabric for easy cleaning.

5. Wireless Charger, Sale $41

I have this one myself and LOVE it. Just make sure he has a model that has the wireless charging feature (Apple iPhone 8, 8 Plus, X, XR, XS, XS Max; Samsung Galaxy Note 9, S9, S9+, Note 8, S8, S8+, S7, S7 Edge, Note 5, S6, S6 Edge), and it’s a gift he’s sure to love!

I like this particular model because it’s said to work with any case, and actually even works with my PopSocket on! I was amazed. It also charges really quick (hence the name: Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charger Stand).

#6 – 10: If you’ve been together awhile…

6. Brooklinen Luxe Core Sheet Set, $129; use my code caroline20 to get $20 off!

I just got these and love them! Super nice and super affordable. Guys always have the worst sheets. If you don’t live together, I’m positive these are better than what he has and he is going to LOVE these! If you are living together, this is an excellent gift because it’s also a gift to yourself 🤓

7. Vincero Watch, $149

This style is bold and versatile, super classy yet contemporary. He’ll love it!

8. Ember Temperature Control Mug, $80

This mug literally keeps your coffee and tea at the exact right temperature of your choosing for the entire time you drink it – so it’s basically the future best part about his morning routine 👍

9. Counterman Shave Regimen, $102

One of my favorite beauty brands just come out with an awesome new men’s line! Beautycounter has just created the Counterman line, and it seems to be very well-received so far. I recently got Tyler the face lotion and he is really loving it!

The Counterman Shave Regimen, formulated to address the unique needs of men’s skin and facial hair, consists of four products designed to purify pores, prep skin for shaving and create a smoother shaving experience while hydrating skin. Featuring our innovative Sequoia Stem Cell Complex, this regimen helps protect skin from environmental stress.

Shop all Counterman regimens here (they also have a beard-focused one).

10. Everlane Convertible Duffle-Backpack, $78

This bag is seriously cool. It has three ways to carry it (top + bottom haul handles, shoulder straps, and in-strap handles) and a plethora of pockets (separate shoe compartment, mesh zip under-lid pocket, quick-access outside pocket, and bottom zip access to main compartment). Plus, it’s made of lightweight, durable, water-resistant, and easy-to-clean material. This bag is the PERFECT travel companion for ANY guy. And the price is just right, too! Also comes in black and a really nice dark green.

Valentines-Day-Gift-Guide-2019-For-Her

#1 – 5: If you just started dating…

1. Fujifilm Instax Instant Camera, sale $50

This is such a sweet gift. She’ll love documenting your blossoming love, and it’s so fun to carry around when you do fun little activities that newly cute couples are always up to.

2. Initial Necklace, $48

A no-brainer gift, any lady would love this. I particularly like this one because of it’s pretty handwritten font, a bit more unique than some other initial letter necklace options.

I also love this super dainty one that’s half the price (if you’re looking for something a bit more budget-friendly).

3. Rosé Gummy Candy Gift Box Set, $40

If you want to keep the gift a bit more casual, this is a great option. Plus, I’ve had these and they are SUPER yummy and very popular! As long as she likes candy, she’ll love these.

4. Balancing Spa Set, $89

This set sounds like such a nice, relaxing routine. Formulated with safer ingredients, this luxe beauty set will really impress her!

The trio includes a mini Facial Mask, mini Facial Mist, and mini Facial Oil. Featuring activated charcoal, the formulas absorb excess oil and refine skin texture to give you a smooth, polished appearance. Perfect for those concerned with clarity, calming, and balancing.

5. Cozy Fleece Pullover, $50

ANYONE will appreciate this gift (just make sure you order a size up – reviews say to do so). This is so cozy but still cute enough to wear and look out-together – AKA basically the best thing ever. She’ll LOVE it!

P.S. I just ordered this for myself (in the tan color), couldn’t help it! But hey – gotta #treatyoself 🙃

#6 – 10: If you’ve been together awhile…

6. Luxe Leather Wallet, $460

Yes the price is a little crazy, but this wallet will last FOREVER. It is a gift she will never forget, seriously. I think this particular size is perfect to fit anyone’s needs – not too big, not too small. And I think the red color is perfect (especially for valentine’s day!) because it makes it easier to find in your bag! I always avoid getting black or dark wallet colors because it’s impossible to find in a dark-interior bag.

Need a cheaper option? Thought so, I love this one and this one.

7. Crossover Ring, $55

I have a super similar ring to this one and get so many compliments on it! Everyone seems to love this style – it’s a little contemporary and edgy but also still feels classy. If you don’t know her ring size, get a 7 – it’s a pretty standard size and should definitely fit one of her fingers. Also comes in silver and rose gold finish!

8. Slipsilk Pure Silk Pillow + Sleep Mask Set, $119

This has been on my wishlist for ages! Silk has so many benefits, helps with anti-aging, anti-sleep crease, and anti-bed head. Silk fibers are significantly less absorbent than many other fibers, so they help keep your skin’s moisture and expensive face and hair products where they belong—on your face and hair, not your pillow. Ordinary pillowcases and masks can cause hair to pull and tangle throughout the night, leading to bed head in the morning and potentially damaging hair. Slipsilk can help reduce friction, too, which also aids in reducing stretching and tugging on delicate facial skin.

This is super luxury gift she will LOVE and honestly probably wouldn’t buy for herself but will probably change her life… so just get it for her 😉Also comes in pink!

9. Leather Travel Case Set, $119

This has also been on my wishlist. I know SO many bloggers who have this set, and it’s always included in the “best makeup bags” articles online. It’s basically the travel makeup bag set there is. The way the zipper opens the bag makes it super easy to find what you’re looking for (which is ALWAYS a struggle) and it’s made of super durable leather, these will last a lifetime.

It’s the perfect gift for a frequent traveler, and you can get her monogram on it which would make it an even more special gift 👌

10. Chemise, $97

This is such a cute little sleep chemise. It’s comfy, cozy and a little bit of sexy – so basically everyone wins! I am obsessed with the flirty lace detailing on the straps, and love that it goes down the back – adorable. She’ll love this!

My Favorite Date Night Ideas:

1. Yaymaker

Tyler and I went to a Plant Nite by this company a few years ago and we had a really good time! This type of thing is definitely for a more creative/artsy-leaning type of SO. But really though – who doesn’t love an adorable succulent?! We haven’t done a Paint Nite or any of the other options, but they all sound super fun. Drinking + guided activities where you bring home something pretty is a win-win for me. These events are available in most parts of the US, so you should be able to find one near you.

2. Racquetball / Ice Skating

Do something active. It’s fun to get out and do something together that gets your heart racing a bit. Plus a little competition never hurt no relationship; it can even become really flirty and playful if you don’t take it too seriously (which you shouldn’t). I think racquetball is an unexpected date option that can be super super fun. Plus it’s indoors! And ice skating is an obvious V day-given, but I had to include because I don’t think it’ll ever get old.

3. Museum / Art Gallery

Get cultural and explore a museum or art gallery you’ve never been to. This can spark some really interesting conversation, and you might learn something new about the way your SO sees the world. Or just being silly and prancing around making fun of the pieces is a good time too. Put some Snapchat filters on statues/paintings; or pretend you’re rich curators and make incredibly generic, meaningless, and frilly statements about everything you see. Whatever suits your fancy, I think anyone can be entertained with this date.

4. Dance Lesson / Cooking Lesson

Learning something new with your SO can be really really enjoyable – especially if its something you can continue to do together after your lesson or class. Take your SO to an impromptu lesson, or surprise them with a gift of a few lessons and you’ll be dancing/cooking/etc. like pros in no time. Plus you can show off this new skill and totally be #CoupleGoals.
+ TIP: good places to find coupons for stuff like this are Gilt City, Groupon, & Living Social

5. Mountain Getaway

If you live in any place with ~4 seasons, you know that February means chilly temps. Flying somewhere is a bit much to celebrate V day, but I think a little road trip to the mountainside for a cozy and relaxing weekend sounds divine.

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
