Combine black – the greatest color of all – with one of the season’s greatest staples – the denim skirt – and you’ve got yourself a real go-to piece for the summer (and fall!). I’m just loving hard on the black denim skirt right now! Even though it’s hot AF outside these days, an all-black ensemble still just screams “cool.” What sparked my want of a black denim skirt was seeing an all-black outfit using one. Besides the skirt, really all you need is a black tee and maybe a few dainty gold necklaces to layer and you’ve got yourself a pretty dope summer outfit.
Another favorite way to style a black denim skirt is with a graphic tee (like how I styled mine above). Something about black denim plus a band tee that just looks badass to me. And on the other hand, pairing the skirt with a button down (and maybe also a neck scarf, like below) is a nice way of dressing the skirt up while still looking pretty casual.
Side note : A belt is also a really nice addition to a jean skirt that I always forget about – probably because the skirt doesn’t need one so I just never think to grab it, but I really need to start thinking about belts more like a stylist and less like a nerd who only wears belts for practicality purposes…
