Accessory Report | Modern Minimal Jewelry

If you couldn’t tell already, I am pretty much a textbook minimalist. I’m funny in the morning because I spend so much time putting on different accessories (mostly jewelry or scarves, but sometimes hair thingys too), and almost always take all of it off. I try so hard to channel “maximalists” and accessorize – and I feel like I’m capable of choosing what looks good…. I just always prefer it plain. I like everyday simple pieces (and I usually tend to go gold). I do my part by having a good everyday ring party and by layering dainty necklaces whenever I get a chance, so that I’m not constantly accessory-bare.

I’ve noticed a small (and definitely understated) trend lately within the modern jewelry category (majority of pieces are minimal, but some are more statement-esque) using the most simple of geometric shapes – so pretty much only circles, lines, squares/rectangles, and triangles.
I first saw these types of styles after I received this Jenny Bird necklace (featured above) in my Rocksbox, which quickly became one of my go-to pieces. Now plenty of fast fashion retailers seem to have picked this up – Mango, & Other Stories, and Zara to name a few.
More specifically, the toggle shape has become pretty popular – example of this look here and here. I’ve never been a huge fan of toggles in the traditional form since I generally prefer the least amount of hardware possible on any given piece. However I’m loving the dainty refresh on this shape.

Also popular with this trend is asymmetrical earring design – linked a few of those in the mix below.

Scroll to shop some truly beautiful pieces below. Also – if you have a special minimalist in your life, I think any of the pieces below would make a really unique and special gift.
