12 Affordable Black-Owned Brands to Shop From

black-owned-brands-to-support-beauty-clean-fashion-jewelry-home-decor-affordable

It’s about time I made a post like this.

I’ve been trying to think of the best way to support the Black community right now, specifically through my blog, and I think shopping is the best and most relevant way to do it! Below I share 12 amazinggg black-owned brands separated into 3 categories: fashion, clean beauty, and home decor. Most are small businesses and many are women-owned as well 🙌

Recently I’ve learned how important supporting black-owned (and POC-owned) businesses is. In general, these businesses don’t have the resources of other businesses. Supporting them helps close the racial wealth gap and strengthen local economies (many brands below are local to NYC). So spend your money where it counts, be an ally, and continue to learn and be better.

Even if you can’t support any of these businesses today with a purchase, definitely give any that you’re vibing a follow on Instagram. I include the linked handle at the end of each description. Any support helps!

1. Humans Before Handles

If you’re on the market for some pretty statement earrings – look no further than this brand! Some styles are sold out but most are available. I especially love a statement earring for summer so now’s the perfect time to up your earring game! Follow and support them on insta @humansbeforehandles

2. OMA The Label

This brand is really cool. They sell some of the freshest gold jewelry pieces (that all the cool girls are wearing right now), plus some really striking tops and bodysuit styles. Personally, I’m eyeing… wait for it… The Caroline chain necklace. Which obvi – my name – but also it’s super gorgeous and really eye-catching without being too much IMO. Unfortunately, it looks like their site is completely sold out but it sounds like they will be restocking very soon. Follow and support them on insta @omathelabel

3. Beach Hours

This brand is also sold out right now (ah! sorry! but too good not to share…) But they have shared a restock date of August 1st so I’ll make sure to share when that happens on insta!! They have some of the dopest (are people still saying dope??) activewear and swimwear that I’ve seen. I really appreciate the cuts and silhouettes of their styles that is unique to this brand. Follow and support them on insta @_beachhours

4. Stella & Haus

This is a super super affordable trendy jewelry brand with prices starting at just $15! Their styles are all very on-trend and now, with lots of edgier styles and plenty of chains and initial/custom name pieces. Follow and support them on insta @stellaandhaus

Clean Beauty:

5. Brigeo, available at Sephora

This brand has a ton of great products that they make for a wide variety of hair types. I personally have and love their deep conditioning mask. It’s my favorite clean option for sure! It does a really good job of restoring strength and moisture – my hair truly feels and looks AH-MAZING after using this. Follow and support them on insta @briogeo

6. KNC Beauty, some products available at Sephora

KNC Beauty makes lip products as well as the CUTEST under-eye masks! You can get their eye and lip masks at Sephora, but they also sell lip balms and a lip scrub on their site. Deff going to be picking one of their masks up to try next time I buy from Sephora. Follow and support them on insta @kncbeauty

7. The Lip Bar, available at Target

This vegan makeup brand makes some of the baddest lip colors I’ve ever seen. If you’re looking for a unique lip color, definitely check out their lipsticks! They also have some great nude options. Follow and support them on insta @thelipbar

8. The Honey Pot Company, available at Target

This is the first plant-based feminine care system on the market. Powered by herbs, made by women and 100% natural. I’ve been trying to make the switch to organic tampons, but haven’t found a brand that I liked yet. I’m definitely going to be picking up some of their tampons next time I’m at Target to give them a try – the reviews are raving!! Follow and support them on insta @thehoneypotco

Home Decor:

9. The Raspberry Room

I’ve stopped at the kiosk several times when attending the FAD Market events in downtown Brooklyn. The choice of fabrics and print always draw me in. The designer, Tiffany, is so sweet and the pillow covers are really high-quality. I’m currently eyeing the black/white one that I featured above, it would look really great on my charcoal-colored couch… And P.S. she also sells cute face masks! Follow and support them on insta @raspberryroompillows

10. Jungalow

Jungalow is the one-stop-shop for bohemian-modern home decor + all things all things colorful, patternful +jungalicious. I’m obsessed with basically everything on the site, but the rug selection is truly one of the most stunning I’ve ever seen. Follow and support them on insta @thejungalow

11. Alexandra Winbush

This business idea is so fun! It’s a self-care kit that includes a scented candle + accompanying tea and a curated playlist. I’m eyeing the Sunday in Brooklyn one purely for the aesthetic haha! Looks like she’s all sold out right now, but you can sign up with your email to be notified of restocks. Follow and support them on insta @thealexandrawinbush

12. Rayo & Honey

Handcrafted in Brooklyn, pennant goods with Positive Intent that combine pop-culture, literature, affirming phrases, and a clean design aesthetic. I love all the “CREATOR” stuff! Follow and support them on insta @rayoandhoney
